Welcome to CoralCMD!

Hi there, you've come across CoralCMD, a multi-user system (sometimes referred to as pubnix or tilde-system) with a tropical theme.

CoralCMD runs OmniOS, an Illumos distribution. If you don't know what Illumos is, it's a fork of OpenSolaris prior to the Oracle takeover of Sun Microsystems, resulting in the source code being shut down. Since CoralCMD runs on Illumos, most commands and documentation for Solaris apply to CoralCMD.

CoralCMD boasts several features, including user semi-autonomy. Users, while restricted to their own Solaris "zone" (akin to a Linux container or FreeBSD jail), are able to use the sudo command to install the software they want inside of their zone. Users also have the privilege of running their own daemons. Users already have a web server (Apache) installed by default, which is then reverse-proxied by the main web server to "https://(username).coralcmd.net/". This means you can install your own web applications or create your own services. Users also get ~30GiB of space in their zone to use.

We also have a Forgejo instance, for registered users' Git version control needs.

There is also a documentation archive for the OS and other components.
